So...this is what STV looks like these days...not much has changed lol! Anyways, I have at long last returned...hello, and how is everyone doing? Here's a little bit of what I've been up to as of late. Well, my laptop died on me last fall I'd say...between September and December, I forget exactly when...so that's why I haven't been on MSN Messenger or here much. Recently our computer decided to start working again, but only late at night (weird I know, but whatevs)...however it is incapable of doing much so I mostly just use it to check my facebook and the forums here now that I can again. Also my PS3 just recently died so I have to pay Sony to either fix it or send me a new one if they can't...such fun ! Hopefully I'll be back on MSN by this fall and on here more cuz I hope to have a new laptop by then, but we'll see. Anyways...my current question remains, how is everyone else doing??? I'm doing great other then my minor problems (which work has now become a major problem, but I won't get into details on that lol)!

I've been gone for a few years - being tech admin at several small boards keeps me rather busy, especially since the first versions of phpBB3 came out. Geez, that software really supports the old admin-wisdom: if you make it idiot-proof, someone upgrades the idiot. (And also the even older wisdom: never change a running system *sigh*) I've been bug-hunting for the best part of the last year and got lots of grey hair in the meantime. Not to mention a few additional lbs.

RL takes its toll as well: I moved, was assigned to a new office, the staff is being drastically reduced and all of a sudden I find myself as my boss' second in command and responsible for some 30 people (with the same salary as before, I might add...)

There are a lot of private worries as well: at the tender age of 45, my brother had the ingenious idea to marry (a Phillippine girl who is not even half his age!) and buy a house. That means, after my parents die I must pay him off if I intend to keep my parents' house. I can do that if my sister agrees to share with me. However, she says she can't plan that far ahead. Being a baby-boomer, I can count myself lucky if I get the minimum social insurance rate when I get pensioned off in about 20 years. That would be something around 400€ / 550 US$. So it's literally vital for me to have my own house as I could never afford even to rent a flat. It all depends on how my sister decides and the uncertainty drives me nuts.

I guess my only chance is to marry some rich guy.
Hmm.....Johnny Depp is my age and so far unmarried....

hahaha...g'luck with all that, including the Johnny Depp bit lol! my social life isn't much better but i'm not worried. sure i still live at home and what not, but i am just going to suck it up and focus on the here and the now. screw the past, look to the future...and screw romantic relationships, unless that right girl happens along then i'll consider it...but for now im focusing on the here and now as i said with my friends and family !

As for the computer issues...its quite complicated and not easy to explain...basically, we have Windows Millenium Edition so I say its just time for a new computer altogether...thats just a matter of money
